Reposting My God Of War Review From Abs

HOLY SHIT!!

This game has now become my new favorite game in all the world. I think my sole purpose in life was to play this game....

If you guys havn't picked this title up you better hurry the hell up because it's f**kING AWESOME!!!

I've played through the demo so the 1st level was nothing new for me, but when I got furthur into the game and realised that creatures like the Minotaur, Gorgons, Harpies, Sirens, Cyclops', and legions of Undead are just the REGULAR foes that you fight. The horrificly violent ways that you can take people out in this game makes BloodRayne look like a paper cut!!! The sheer power the Kratos gets in this game almost makes you feel pity when dishing out the pain....almost

But where this game shines is how it makes you feel like you ARE Kratos!! Your mission is to serve the Gods, but just how CRUEL you are is all up to you!! You can grap CIVILIANS and tear their bodies apart for health, and the MORE cruel you are while beating the shit out of monsters you are granted MORE bonuses!! Some people may think that once you grab somebody you will see the same cinematic dispath every time, but you are wrong!! You can press square to implae them on your sword and crack the chain like a wip to smash them into surrounding foes, or press triangle to either tear them in f**kING HALF, or press circle to smash their face in a bit then slam them down and rapidly (and multiply) thrust into their throats!! But there are MANY others that can be done as well!! Upon grabing some foes I can bash them into the air and throw my blade to impale them and slam them into the ground to repeat the process!!! Or I can let them get up so I can grab them again so I can (I love this one) rip off their arm (which is a huge blade) and slam them to the ground with my foot on their throat while I cut them in half at the torso with their own arm!!! You can grab a flier and hold the mdown and rip off their wings for an instant kill....YOU CAN EVEN GRAB FOES IN THE AIR!!! I have even seen one where I grab a person and BEND THEM IN HALF!!!!

However for the most GRAPHIC kills in the game you have to go for the cinematic kills....to do these beat down your opponent until they are able to be grabbed and the njust grab them. This mainly happens when you fight the guys that give certain bonuses for certain types of kills. For instance....when you do this to a Minotaur you will headbut him to the ground and try to plunge you blade into his MOUTH!! Of course he isn't dead yet so he will grab you to shake you off....so you have to madly tap circle to out muscle him and get the fatal kill which will yield healing orbs. The best one occurs with the Gorgons (Medusa's) where you grab them and hob on their backs and you have to move the left analog in the right motion to crack their necks and then rip them off to yield magic orbs!!

There are like a BILLION more ways to kill your victims in this game, but I gotta get back to playing it some more......
